Installation of Background Server fails on Mac OS X Mavericks

0 votes

First-time user: When downloading the back-end server installer to Mac OS X Mavericks I receive the expected "App Not Certified" dialog. However, when I open "System Preferences > Security" and click the "Install Anyway" button the installation fails with a "This file is damaged and should be trashed" dialog.

This is very repeatable on Mavericks. Downloading the Windows version proceeds without incident.

Try adjusting the security settings within System Preferences to "Allow apps downloaded from: Anywhere".

It will need to be set to this setting when performing the installation. After the back-end server is installed, you should be able to set it back to whatever you had previously.
